Welcome to the board. I won't laugh at you as long as you don't laugh at our redneck toy hauler.

Hello, I'm new as well, I have an ATV for the GF but I ride a KTM 450 Dirtbike.  Didn't realize this was ATV only so I may not be active with you all, unless I'm wrong and you have some dirt bike riders.

The anonymous posting for dirt bike rider was me.  I also have a harley and love to ride street as well.  Do you all welcome dirt bikes or atv only?

Saw the ad on craigslist and joined. I ride two wheels myself, rmz 450, but I also own a Polaris 500 but it doesn't get out much unless the wife joins. Figured this would be nice to have a connection with other riders.

I am thinking about the St Joe's trip since I haven't been there since last year. It would be for Sat/Sun, but I am looking to see what I can do. As for august it depends on where and what weekend.

Hey everyone.  New member here.  Just ran across the add on Craigslist.  My name is Josh and I live in Dardenne Prairie.  Fairly new to riding.  I bought some land in north Warren county a few years back and thats mostly where I ride.  (cause I can get out there on a week night for a few hours)  My neighbor has some trails on his land he lets me use, and i cruze around the gravel roads.  I havent had a chance to cut any trails in my woods yet.  I'm looking to ride with people, but its hard since Im so busy with kids sports on weekends.

I've got a 2011 Kawie Brute Force 750.  I've got a Muzzy exhaust and MSD on it, as well as 25" Pitbull Growler Tires.  I've also got a 2012 Grizzly 125 for the kids.

I'm looking forward to riding with you guys in the future.

Thanks.  Yeah, you are close.  No I didnt know there was a place there.  I'll have to check it out.  Do they have some good trails?  That is what I enjoy.  I'm not into mudding.  Not that I am a technical rider either.  LOL

Actually, I just went to my land yesterday and went riding a bit.  35 minutes from my driveway to when I am orening my barn door... Gotta love close.

Just bought my first atv, 2013 Polaris sportsman 850, I have about 25 hours on it, just did the first maint. Fist time I have ever had to change oil in three transmissions and the engine at once, lol.  I have been riding at moonlite, st. Joe mostly, and a really great place in the mark twain forest ( not sure if its totally legal ) its west of potosi on hwy 8, there is a huge abandoned strip mine, hill climb, a couple lakes, power cuts etc.. Havn't explored the whole place yet.  I did the two wheelers for awhile, but it was beating up my body, really enjoying the 4 wheeler.

Two of my riding partners are busted up, borken collar bone, and the other has a broken finger.  If anyone plans on ridding or getting together , hit me up, Im game in about any kind of wheather.

Congrats on the new purchase, Ive rode st joe a bunch of times its a good place just gets boring after so long, currently there is a new years eve and new years event going on at moonlight dont know if thats somethings you would be interested in , i run a rzr 900 ever since i had back surgery but it's still a blast

Moonlight is okay, I might be up for a new years run.  That road is crazy steep, my truck slides a little when its bone dry, don't know what it would do if it was covered with snow.

Im thinking about going to st. Joe this weekend, I haven't tried running in snow yet, thought I would give it a try - starting to get cabin fever.  I live off of old 21,  in imperial, st. Joe is the closest official atv place.

Man I live off 55 and highway M. So you live pretty close to me. This weekend is no good for me. But I'm in going to st. Joe. I just need to get my trailer fixed this weekend again. 2 weeks ago went to moonlight and blew bith trailer tires and busted a light when the tire came apart. I haven't been to st joes in years.

I just bought a trailer, its a 7 x 14 dovetail flat bed, no railings, great for loading from the side. That moonelite road is rough, I can see tearing stuff up, if you dont watch it. The bad thing about st. Joe is you have to have a flag, and you need to watch for other people, it gets crowed. I actually like to go to a trail in Mark Twain, its isolated, and huge, tons of trails, a couple lakes, old strip mines, two or three power cuts, you can get lost there if you dont watch, its about an hour and a half drive. They are logging there, so there is a bunch of logging roads. hwy p out of potosi takes you there. St. Joe would be safer with snow on the ground. We will have load up a trailer sometime go ridding.

Those logging trails at mark twain sound great! Especially for bigger bikes like mine, I would definitely be up for a trip there in a week or two!

I ride in Van Buren all the time. My girlfriends parents own 10 acres in the mark twain forest. There is everything from gravel roads to isolated trails. Just got to stay out of the streams cause the conservation officers frown on that. Permits for the county's are cheap and usually lifetime

I may be interested in a mark twain ride too if my schedule allows.

Been doing this for a while.  We don't get to ride much, but try and get out a few times throughout the summer.  Looking forward to getting out and having some fun.  Need tires for the XP, the BajaCross are worthless.  Trying to find a 8.5X24 enclosed trailer as well.

Can't wait to get out this summer.

Steve

Hey all, newb to the board here. Was looking for some places to ride some buggies. Saw a post on another forum about Cottage Hills and East Alton. Does anyone know of anywhere to go close by these areas that are open to the public?

We are another group of Leerjak riders. Totally bummed they are closed. We have checked out Turkey Bay, SMORR and Potawatomi this year. Always looking for places to ride. We have a RZR and our friends that we ride with have Can-Am Commander. Was looking at Moonlight in Sullivan but kept seeing something about the road being rough??? Not big into rock climbing. If you have ever been to Leerjak you understand the riding we are looking for.

I believe the rough road you're talking about is just to get into the place once you get in there, there is a big grassy field some easy trails and then some more technical stuff once you get up into the woods.

I just got my ATV up and going (AGAIN). Testing it July 13-16th at St. Joes to make sure everything is good. I am wanting to get out and ride again. Had fun with everyone the last time we went out. My next bigger trip I have planned is at Taylorville, IL in October for Trucks Gone Wild.
