Ideas for November meet up
Permalink

Hey everyone just trying to get a jump on November's meet up. Trying to get some ideas of Places. I was thinking suttons bluff, leerjack, st joes, moonlight, or tj's friends place. These are just a few places off the top of my head. Open to other places. All input is appreciated and help us make the meetups better.

Unfortunately or fortunately deer season opens 11/10. I will be in the woods for 2 weekends slaying Bambi.

Do you guys usually meet up on the weekends?  Do you ever meet up during the week?  I sometimes have more flexibility during the week.

As far as location, I enjoyed Suttons Bluff but it will be a lot nicer once all of the trails are linked together and you dont have to drive down all the roads to get to each trail.  I really ejoyed St. Joe for my first visit last week.  If it's a date I can make, I dont much care as long as the drive is not too bad.  Looking forward to seeing new area but mostly being able to ride some other folks.  I guess I need to get my oil changed soon though, since I just finally hit my break-in period. biggrin

We mainly do the big meetups on weekends. But if people want to do one during the week I am up for it. Right now I am just trying to get a place and then we will schedule a day or weekend to meet up. Thanks for the heads up on deer season so it may have to be the first or last weekend of the month depending on everones schedule.

Definitely change the oil on schedule during Break in. After that I change em once a year. If you want to do it your self or need help we will be working on atvs a few nights this week. We're out in high ridge jeffco area.

I do the stuff that I shouldn't be doing! lol,

first time not paying attention and looking at the scenery I ran into the back of Cali, busted up my driver side A-Arms. He had stopped to retrieve Chads hat when it flew off, this all happened within seconds (not fixable on the trails, but we were done for the day anywayz, another story, this was at another trail about 2-3 weeks earlier).

Next, when at moonlight, I was trying to go up a crazy steep hill, well I got half way up it and got scared and started to back down it, my back tire got caught in a rut and I hit a back flip and busted up the same side that hit Cali. This time it was mostley bent and I was able to bust it back in good enough shape to finish the day with the sledge hammer (I brought it just in case).

Also earlier that day about 3 mins into the ride I hit a large stick that lodged into my sprocket and popped my chain off (took about 10 mins to put it back on).

Other than that just a couple loose nuts and bolts here and there (from the other recks that I over looked!).

Next time I think I'll be fine, I hope! lol

TJ likes to work on his ride ride right in the middle of everyone of our outtings. Front alignment, front tie rod replacement. An oil change should be a breeze!

I guess that's why he is in a buggy?  So he can carry more tools and spare parts? biggrin  Or does he just like to show off his mad off-road pit crew skills in the middle of a trail?

Wow, that sounds like quite a day.  My first day out at Moonlight I flattened my front tire.  I was coming down one of the steeper hills and got nervous about the ruts and lodged my front right tire and my handlebars jammed and it broke the bead on the tire.  Thankfully my buddy riding with me, had an air pump and saved the day.  He hasnt let me live it down since then. :)

My buddy Scott has been there, he said he liked it. Lots of trucks there too, with a mud pit for them.

I've been really busy with stuff at home and school, plus it's the holiday season it's gonna be hard for me to find time to get away. I have papers due, and the latter half of December I have to go to Colorado with the girlfriend to spend time with here people, so basically most of my time is booked.

Yep, West Alton. I'd be up for that too. TJ, does Jim not have enough room for us on his lot? I can't remember.

I wouldn't play with the Alton idea too much till hunting season is over. There was a ton of stands up there. Since we were warned once if they catch us out there the ticket is a lot higher. I wouldn't even want to know the fine if they catch you accidentally in the nature protection area. Alton is a lot of fun and close but It is not worth the risks to me.

I am going to hit either letz go nutz or moonlight this month. Probally moonlight if we get more rain. I need to run the new Atv to check for bugs before plow season.

How busy was st joes? We might of swung down there if we knew you were there.

We went to moonlight saturday. It was a great weekend for riding. We were sweating in jeans and t shirts. There was about 20 people at moonlight. Low dust and a bunch of mud. Purplescrambler actually got in the mud(not by choice) with his belt case not sealed.

If you need help with bearings yell. I just did them on the Vinson and they are the same. There not too bad to do.

I just bought a wire welder so me and my buddy are going to try to make it this week. He says he can "weld". So i will probally call you next week to do it right.

Lol, sounds like something I would say (I can weld! lol)! I've had my welder for about a year now, I'm not bad but my biggest gripe is cleaning the weld once I'm done. The wire welders leave a lot of splatter sometimes.

Lol Tim, if ya need help let me know. Flux core wire welder or a MIG wire welder. The inner shield as we IronWorkers call it is very messy when it comes to splatter so cover anything nearby that you don't want burnt. I'm not gonna have my bearings before next week, but I may still ride if somebody's going, I think the old ones will last another day after all they have already gone through in 5 yrs.
